President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı attended the mass inauguration ceremony of several projects dominated by educational facilities.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı attended the mass inauguration ceremony in the southeastern provincial city of Siirt. After the inauguration ceremony President Erdoğan addressed the citizens of Siirt at the Cumhuriyet Square gave information to the citizens about the investments and ongoing projects including educational facilities for Siirt and the newly inaugurated 40 projects that was built for 161 million Turkish liras.

President Erdoğan said some of the 33 million liras spent on educational facilities was donated by private citizens and thanked and congratulated the donors.

President Erdoğan said central Anatolian High School, Anatolian Girls Vocational School, Kuralan Anatolian High School, Baykan High School, Şirvan Industrial Vocational High School that included  263 class rooms, 3 dormitories, three multi-purpose halls and 27 personnel lodgings were among the facilities inaugurated.  

The president said Siirt has a university for 7 thousand students, dormitories with a capacity of one thousand 155 students and a hospital with 155 beds and that new investments are underway.

After his speech at the Cumhuriyet Square President Erdoğan visited the campus of the İbrahim Hakkı Girls Anatolian İmam Hatip High School and attended the inauguration of the TÜRGEV Emine Erdoğan Girls Dormitory.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the TÜRGEV Emine Erdoğan Girls Dormitory built by LİMAK Holding Company President Erdoğan said the dormitory complex includes a girl’s imam hatip high school, a dormitory, sports and conference halls and said this resembles a Islamic social center. President Erdoğan said the Project was completed in a very short time and added “it is a wonderful school project that is beyond all praise. I thank benevolent Nihat Özdemir for his massive donation.”

 

“Students who graduate from this school will look into the future from a different perspective”

President Erdoğan said such projects that are undertaken in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia are signals flares and went on to say “the fact that students are studying and staying at such excellent facilities will enhance their perspective of the future. It will strengthen their self-confidence. Students who graduate from this school will look into the future from a different perspective and will walk ahead with stronger strides and in a more dignified manner. I hope these places will produce students with excellent performances at university entrance exams. Why should we have top students out of these schools? I hope we will score very high, I have confidence in all of you (the students).”

 

Minister Avcı: People of Siirt know well where they were before and where they are today 

Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı said half of the facilities inaugurated in Siirt belong to the Ministry of National Education and gave the following information about these facilities. “Between 2002 and 2003 Siirt had 2 kindergartens now it has 23. After the 28 February period the primary and secondary schools were merged and there were 297 such joint facilities. The imam Hatip secondary schools were closed. Now we have 310 primary schools and 117 secondary schools making it a grand total of 427. We went up from 297 to 427. We opened sic imam Hatip secondary schools. In the past we had one imam Hatip high school now we have nine. We had one Anatolian High School now we have 13. We did not have a social studies high school now we have it. We had one science high school now we have two. We did not have a sports high school now we have it.  We did not have a fine arts high school now we have one. We only had one Anatolian vocational high school now we have six. We did not have a health vocational school now we have two. Vocational school was six now we have 17. We had one multi-program high school now we have four. We did not have an Anatolian tourism school now we have one. We opened a primary education school for the handicapped. We only had 16 dormitories for primary and secondary school children now we have 30.

Minister Avcı said the people of Siirt know well what has been achieved over the years and that the city square has witnessed all these and thanked everyone led by President Erdoğan for their contributions to complete these projects.
