Minister Avcı attends Siyer-i Nebi awards presentation ceremony

Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı along with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Siyer-i Nebi awards presentation ceremony after a competition aimed at informing the young generation about the epic life story of Prophet Muhammad.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı attended the Siyer-i Nebi awards presentation ceremony at the Haliç Congress Center. The competition was jointly organized by the Çekmeköy Municipality and the Marmara University Faculty of Theology.

The ceremony was also attended by President Erdoğan’s spouse Emine Erdoğan, Minister of Family and Social Policies Ayşenur İslam, Minister of Youth and Sports Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Culture and Tourism Minister Ömer Çelik, İstanbul Governor Vasip Şahin and a large gathering of guests.

Speaking at the ceremony President Erdoğan said what is important here is not winning but it is to understand the Prophet and make it a source of concern for ourselves to inform people about the Prophet. He said this concern is the most pleasant concern and added “if we had followed the guidance of our great Guide today our geography would not have been subjected to such cruelty, we would not have these bloodbaths and we would not shed all these tears.”

The slogan of the ceremony was “We Loved Him So Much.” President Erdoğan presented the awards of the university students who won the first five awards.

The first prize went to İstanbul University Faculty of Theology student Seyfullah Fatih Aydın, the second prize went to İstanbul University School of Medicine student Nursena Erener, third place went to İstanbul University Faculty of Theology student Abdullatif Çetin, fourth place went to Marmara University Faculty of Theology student Fatih Ceniklioğlu and the fifth place went to İstanbul University Faculty of Pharmacy student Gülüstan Badur.
