Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı meets Somalian Minister of Education Hadra Beshir Ali Mansib.

Saying relations between Turkey and Somalia go way back in history Minister Avcı added “relations between Turkey and Somalia are deep rooted ties that go way back in history. Our friendship and brotherhood with Somalia dates back to hundreds of years. Our cooperation has increased immensely in recent years.” Pointing out that ties have grown at a fast pace in the field of education Minister Avcı said: “As of today about 1,500 Somalian students are at university in Turkey. In secondary education we have about a thousand students from Somalia in Turkish schools. These figures will increase in time.”

Avcı pointed out that Turkey and Somalia share a common culture and stressed that education has been a bridge in further strengthening the bonds between the two countries. Saying he wants relations to further expand in the field of education Minister Avcı thanked Somalian Minister of Education Hadra Beshir Ali Mansib for visiting Turkey. 

Somalian Education Minister Hadra Beshir Ali Mansib thanked Turkey for aiding the education efforts of Somalia.  The visiting minister said “education is the key to everything. We feel everything will be alright in Somalia with education. We are in this office to further expand our ties. We are here to guide our brothers who are being educated in Turkey.”

Minister Hadra Beshir Ali Mansib thanked Minister Avcı for the warm hospitality accorded to her.
